I contracted this company for a move from NY to Tampa FL. I asked them up front if the work would be subcontracted and they stated that they handled their own moves and that no subcontracting would be done. On the day of the move instead of being there at 9am as was scheduled they showed up at 4:30pm. The didn't disarm all my furniture because they said to ensure that nothing was lost in transition they wanted to keep certain pieces together. I paid them and on 5/27/11 my furniture was delivered. At the time of delivery I realized that the computer desk was completely broken, they broke my bed, they broke my couches, they broke my armoire, they broke a huge mirror that I had, they broke a lot of the stuff in my boxes and in my presence they dropped two boxes with my electronics off of the moving trucks. I noticed that they delivered a table that was not mine and I told the driver it wasn't mine and he said keep it nothing much I can do with it now. Once they had left I realized that they had lost one side table that was part of a 3 table set with my coffee table. The guy who delivered my furniture informed me that he didn't work for the company and that he was given the work because they don't like to drive down to Tampa. I emailed the company immediately and sent them pictures a few days later. It has been four months and still no payment has been made to me for all this damage. The employees there lie and state that my claim was submitted. I spoke with the claims company and they stated that since the work was subcontracted they can not submit the claim through them. Recently after calling almost everyday I spoke with a gentlemen who claimed to be the owner who just got back from out of the country his name is Kevin I believe. He claimed that David the gentlemen he had running the company hadn't been doing his job and hadn't submitted any claims but that he would process my claim immediately. Once I called back to follow up he said it would take 3 weeks to get a response which I was very leary of after my experience over the past three months with this company. I just called again today 9/23/11 now almost 4 months later after waiting three weeks and I find out from the receptionist that the guy David who supposedly wasn't submitting our claims still works there and I realized they scammed me just to buy more time. This company is a complete scam, I have tried to avoid a lawsuit because of how expensive it is to file one in Tampa but they have left me no choice. I am filing one this week. Do not go near this company or you will regret it. There are numerous stories on the internet of other individuals with a similar experience and still no claim payment. |
