Fatcatrods sold me fiberglass streetrod that is not buildable Internet, Internet |

I purchased a 1937 Ford rolling chassis package from Steve Weber in May 2010. The first red flag was that he delivered the car the very next day missing multiple components. Mr. Weber delivered my car in an impressive enclosed trailer with his logo "Fatcatrods" painted professionally on the trailer. I made the mistake of paying for the package in full even though he had "forgotton" many parts that were included in the package such as: headlights, wheel hardware, incomplete brake system, interior dash and console components. After 3 weeks and many phone calls there were multiple excuses about why I still did not have the parts I was promised. I had to pay someone to drive to Dalton to collect my parts which were still incomplete and incorrect. After putting in countless hours working on the car, I became painfully aware that the car could not be built. Steve uses old, outdated molds and used components to build his cars that are almost unusable. The frame was manufactured incorrectly and there was no way to install an engine or transmission correctly without completely dismantling the frame. This company preys on individuals that want to build their dream car - but these cars are a nightmare. After asking around and doing additional research, I have found that Steve Weber and Fatcatrods are taking advantage of and ripping off many hotrod enthusiasts. I have moved on and cut my losses and can only hope that someone reads this and steers clear of Steve Weber and Fatcatrods. |

After purchasing a Fatcat Rod I can certainly see how a person off the street could have a bitter taste. First of all you have to have the money to spend and not worry about the cost. Second if you are not mechanically inclined don't go thinking your just gonna drop a motor and trans and be ready to roll. This project is not for you know it all assholes that can't even change your own oil. After being in a shop all my life and sevice department many years I still knew better than to attempt the DIY project. Understanding the process and being able to carry it out is two different concepts. Usually a good reason these people get paid the price they get for these cars. Experience!!
