Family Hyundai Scam dealer! Verbally agreed to price and added $1100 to my contract!!! Tinley Park, Illinois |

I was interested in test driving a certain used car that Family Hyundai had for sale and after jumpstarting the car in the lot to get it started, I ran out of gas on the test drive! I called the dealer and they sent a porter with a gallon of gas within 15 minutes. After the porter put the gas in, of course the car didn't start. So another 20 minutes later the porter came back with the jump pack and I was finally on my way. After sitting on the side of the road in 85 degree weather burning in the hot summer sun with the top down and a dead battery, I had to deal with sunburn for the next three days. And after this experience I STILL wanted the car if they could meet my payment requirements. I was then informed that the car was listed at $20,500 but they had room to bring it down to where it needed to be for a lower monthly payment. I didnt have the energy to go on; the process to buy this car was so long and had to speak to three different departments just to finish. Jumping ahead, after a long wait and a BARRAGE of aftermarket accessory sales attempts with an irritating 18 year old salesperson that doesn't understand the word NO, I finally purchased this car. Upon driving down the road noticed that they STILL had not filled the tank! There was only the one gallon from earlier! Also, the windshield washer container was empty and I had to fill it, I know its not expensive, but how much is it for a dealership to make sure its full? And if that wasnt checked what other fluids weren't checked? Note: after checking over it myself, it was also a quart low on oil. The next morning I ran the VIN # through Google and found no less than 10 different online ads listing the car for $19,895! And on MY contract I noticed they sold it to me for $20,995! An empty tank, no floormats, car not checked out and $1100 more than their own advertised price sounds like a shady sham dealer to me... Women beware, dont be so trusting to this "family" dealership. I will be sending this letter to as many people as possible until this situation is corrected. I know the state of Illinois doesnt have a buyer remorse law for cars. But there has to be something against false advertisement and changing prices of cars after verbally agreeing to a lower price. I would like to know at this point what you are going to do for me. Or will I need to continue to send this letter out to everyone who I think could help me. Ex: BBB, Women activist groups, corporate offices This has got to stop. |
