Around April 2010 I signed a one year contract and paid in full. I was informed by their sales manager John Legris that when I purchased a year; I was purchasing 365 days of gym access and not a 365 time frame in which I could use the gym. Fast forward to today, April 3, 2011: I'm checking over my credit card statement and I see a $46.83 charge from Extreme on March 31, 2011. Not even a courtesy call? |

I cancelled my membership back in July 2011. I have heard of many many many complaints towards Extreme Fitness and so when I decided to cancel I made sure I got it in writing despite their insistence it was unnecessary. Thanks god I did.
Not suprisingly considering their reputuation they started billing my credit card again last month. When I called to find out why, they were very rude on the phone. Infact even after I told them that I had a copy in writing confirming my cancellation that I could fax to them, they insisted I had to come in.
The first person to deal with me was Kaylee. All she did was fill out some firms that would be forwarded to head office. After explaining to her that I was not dealing with head office and I was not waiting 2 weeks to sort this out Kaylee threw a fit and ran off with no explanation.
30 minutes later she came back with her general manager. He said his name was Drew Roberts. We went into his office and then the first thing out of his mouth is "what is my problem." When I asked him if Kaylee explained it he actually yelled at her to get out and asked me again what me problem was. That kind of indicated what I was in for. If he is that rude to his own employees how does he treat ex-members. He proceeded to try to intimidate me (standing, raising his voice, getting his face right into mine, etc, just acting like an absolute jackass) . And the number of profanities!
He would not provide any details on this head office that he kept referring to like where they are located, phone number, contact person, etc.
He was the top guy at that location and went to great lengths trying to explain what a standup kind of person he and Extreme Fitness are. He yelled at me that that this was an accident and that he would not put up with my comments that either this was intentional or the staff incompetent. According to him he is not aware of this ever happening! Extreme has never overbilled anyone else!!! Pretty funny!
He refused to refund my money. Only said that he would look into it. And then he slammed the door on my way out. |
