I attended Everest Institute in downtown Pittsburgh in 2007 for medical Insurance Billing and Codeing. At first i didn't think anything was wrong with the "school" everyone seemed nice and they made the enrollment process very quick and easy... if only I knew that I was signing away my life. I attended the 6 month program and got decent grades.
However, the teacher acted like I was an idiot and didn't understand anything that she said. Everest Institute lures people who are looking to better them selves in to years of debt and a future that is the same as when you enter the building. When i finished the classes i had to do an externship the teacher told my that it would be best if i did an in school externship also know as Practicum because she thought it was the best choice for me.
I finished my practicum in less than 3 months and was actually helping others for the last 2 weeks i was there. The inpracticum teacher was nice however while we were working shewould often get us destracted with music and talking about her daughter,in fact one day she started playing So Waht by Pink and started telling us how her daughter said the swear words in the song not exactly what i was there to learn.
The real trouble started for meAFTER i got out of the "school". They set me up for interview after interview with no success. I will NEVER forget the interview that i had with McKesson the lady laughed at me and told me to looksomewhere else. I can't get a job in my field because i don't have enough experience and the school has since stopped trying to help.
I am also not happy with the fact that is was a diploma program I was never informed of that. Yeah that's right you don't get a degree you get a diploma! So this "school" has me in debt up to my eyeballs, and it was the WORST school I have ever seen.
I wish there was someone to tell me this before i wasted my future because now i want to go to school for computer engineering and computer science but can not get a loan because of this school, and i havenothing to show for all of my hard work but a worthless piece of paper. Stay away from this joke and save yourself the humiliation. I wish I had.
