Ed Guss Broke Rental Contract; Manipulative Fraud Kissimme, Florida |
1st of Dec, 2010 by User538897 |
Ed Guss rented us his home in October 2006. A one year lease was signed. We knew his house was listed for sale when we agreed to rent... but only because he stated he would not sell the home, or attempt to sell the home, until our lease expired. Once we had moved in we pained some rooms of the house and obviously provided furnishings. The realtor for the home asked permission to show it once or twice in November, and we complied thinking the home was listed for a certain pre-agreed upon time frame. The realtor stated that he liked our decorations and thought it made the home seem more marketable. A few months later, we found out that the home was still listed for sale, and that Ed had dropped the price. That's when we started having to be availble to let the realtor show the home more frequently... at times it was more than once a week which cost us time away from work. When one couple had seen the property on several occasions and was speaking about furniture measuremnts we thought it was a possibility that Ed was actively trying to sell the house out from under us. Though we made attempts to contact him regarding the issue so that we could find new housing arrangements and obtain our security deposit to move he denied that he was selling the house. Once the home inspector arrived with the same couple, we knew he was lying and was not going to provide us with any notice of when the house was selling. We contacted a lawyer regarding our rights as tenants, and once the buyers found out that we had signed a one year lease (Ed told them we lived there month-to-month) they even postponed closing until an agreement was worked out between Ed and us. We found it extremely difficult to get straight answers from him regarding anything, and decided it was best just to move out and be done with the hassle it had become. Ed Guss doesn't lie because to do that he would have to know what the truth even is. He is a compulsive cheat and a manipulative person. Avoid interaction with him at all costs... business or personal.
