On June 21, 2012, I visited the offices of Eccentric Exotic Five Star Professional Maid Service to apply for a position as a regular housekeeper (NOT as an "exotic"/nude housekeeper). I responded to a job posting by the company on craigslist.org. The company's policy is that each applicant must pay $35 for a background check to be conducted. I paid the required $35 fee for the background check. However, despite having no criminal history and excellent job skills, I was never called for an interview. Plus, the company never provided any proof of the background check. Each time that I inquired about the status of my application (which was on 3 separate occasions by email), they replied and told me that I needed to wait. First, I had to wait 10 days for an update. Then, they told me that I needed to wait another 15 days. After that time had passed, they told me that I needed to wait 7 more days! They just kept stringing me along. After a month had passed, on July 27, 2012, I requested a full refund of my $35 fee by phone and email. I no longer trusted the company and believed that I had been scammed. The owner of the company (who goes by the bizarre pornographic moniker of "Sexual or Saxual Blu") refused to give me a refund under any circumstances. As a shield, he attempts to use his "no refund" policy (printed on the job applications) as a defense. I have no idea what he actually did with my money. Recently, I notified him by email that I would be taking further action against him and his operation. I my opinion, he's not running a legitimate business. He's nothing more than a thief and a local scam artist. I believe that he takes $35 from each applicant to supposedly run a background check but then he never calls anyone (or he calls very few) for an interview and he has no real jobs to offer. Furthermore, he never sends applicants any proof that a background check was actually conducted. Most job applicants will simply forget about their applications and their money. I believe that is what "Mr. Blu" depends on in order to continue running his scam and stealing $35 from unsuspecting men and women. Who knows how many people have come to "Mr. Blu's" office over the years to apply for a housekeeping position, paid $35 (or more) for a presumed background check, and then never heard from him or his maid service again? I'm sure that I'm not the first and as long as he's allowed to remain in business, I won't be the last. ...And who knows how much "Mr. Blu" has profited through ill-gotten gains? Here is one last key note: "Mr. Blu" was sued in 2009 over this same issue. His case was litigated on "The Peoples Court" and the judge ruled against him. Here is the YouTube link to the case of "The Peoples Court: The Case of Sexual Blue's Exotic Maid Service (1/2)": Part 1 of the case - http://youtu.be/y0FZDrPvY4I Part 2 of the case - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fF4eSvqTuNA Once again, I applied for a REGULAR housekeeping position, not for one as a nude maid. I have no interest in being a glorified stripper. "Mr. Blu" and Eccentric Exotic Five Star Professional Maid Service needs to shut down or at minimum, closely monitored for such things as misrepresentation and fraud. |
