Found ad on Craigslist for data entry. Sent email and got response for a cyber interview over im-ing. Professional right? So, Craig E. Barnes, "interviews" me and briefs me about the company like how he founded it in LA in 1998 and its a consulting company. Whatever. Very suspicious because after a 20 min interview he writes that the best thing about the company is they send you a check for the new phone line, laptop, and fax you'll need to do the work. A company sending a stranger money to buy their own supplies? He wrote you can work from home but will need to come in for an interview when the office is done. I asked where it was and he wrote "youll let you know". Week goes buy and I get a check for over 2,ooo dollars . On the fed ex box it said from manny boyd but on the check it said from financial network investment corp on sepulveda blvd in CA. Manny's return address was from deer park, ny. Suspicious. Also the check didn't have any instructions or anything with it. just a check in an envelope. i didnt even know who it was from until i thought of craig again.i emailed he and he said it was from the company and i "have to disposit it". then i remember he asked during the interview, did i have a checking account and where. mmpph. ok. so i looked it up "work at home scams here (((link redacted))) so what do you know? its a scam to get your banking info. i had just went through the oldham and bianchi scam on craigslist so i had my doubts already but damn...
