Tried to extract and replace tooth for $8000-all it needed was a crown |

When I was told that this dentist could not put a crown on my tooth due to a crack she told me was too severe, I left and went to my own oral surgeon through my insurance company (my insurance only pays for extractions). When he looked at my tooth he started questioning me about why I wanted it extracted and told me someone should be able to put a crown on it-Dr. Samaha had only taken out the filling, she had not even bothered prepping the tooth for a crown, which is what I paid for. She repeatedly asked me if I was sure I could pay the $6000 to $8000 for the extraction, bone graft, screw and tooth replacement. She asked me so many times that I was uncomfortable-when she told me she could not do the crown-I was certainly suspicious at this point. I was so happy that I recieved a second opinion before allowing her to extract my molar. What a horrible experience! This woman comes accross as well meaning and that she has only your well being in mind. BEWARE!!! She does not accept any insurance plan-so is therefore unaccountable to any other intity but her patient that is making decisions based solely on her words. BEWARE!!! |

By the way-I had a crown put on that tooth with no problems! by a different dentist. Of course I never went back to Samaha for any other treatment-besides her not returning any of my calls once my oral surgeon had spoken to her for more than 30 minutes. I am out slightly more than $1400 that I prepaid to get a crown. To this day she has not returned any of my money. |
