| I bought a car at Dothan motor company after putting 2K down. I had the car for a few months and payed on time. I got layed off from my job and missed 1 payment. I got a new job and the day I got paid I went to leave work and go pay my late payment, which was not even 30 days late, and the current months payment, which I was making early. I got to the parking lot and my car was gone. After contacting the police because I thought it had been stolen I found out DMC had repoed it. When I got to DMC they said it was repossessed because I had a late payment. I was furious and they refused to take my payments and told me my account had been closed. But offered to let me reapply to get the car back. I reapplied and they turned me down because I had a new job. Even though the job payed me more than my old one they made up some lie about my income to dept ratio. They scammed me took over 3K of my money and ruined my credit and still made more of a profit by reselling the car. What ever you do do not buy from DMC Dothan Motor Company because they will scam, lie, and rip you off with no remorse. |

| Did you file a complaint with the BBB? The reason I asked is because I had a problem with them and filed a complaint and got my issue resolved. Here's the story. We had been dealing with them for a couple of years and had no problem(when they were in the old location). Granted the truck wasn't perfect but we expected that. I mean really it is a 94 we bought in 2008 so we expected it to run like a 94 and it did. But they were nice and did all to help us. Once it was paid off we decided to get another vehicle. I browsed the web and found the truck I was looking for on their website. So we went in the same day and asked about the vehicle and the sales person informed us they didn't have that model truck but they had something similar. Needless to say she sold us. Well the truck didn't have any gas in it and she told us to come back the next day and she will take us for gas. We went back and she told us she will meet us around front. As we are sitting in our new truck waiting on her to pull around, here she pulls up in the exact truck I originally came in to purchase. We were stunned. When we made it to the gas tank I questioned her about it and she said they had just got it in. I told her that's what I came in for and I wanted to trade. She said okay and we headed to the office she gathered her boss and they told her no I couldn't trade the truck. I demanded to speak with him and he gave me every excuse in the book. He said the truck had to go through inspection, which I understood, I told him that's fine I will just leave the truck I had purchased there and come back when it was ready. No that want work he said because it may not pass inspections and pretty much said you are stuck. So I left in tears. Sulked for a couple of days and then decided I was doing something about it. So I contacted the BBB gave them my story ( I still made my weekly payments on time) When I came in the next week to make my payments they pulled me in the BIG office and he questioned me I gave him my story. Well I ended up with the truck I wanted and love it! I don't know if it's because they moved or if they have different owners but they don't treat you the same anymore. I will not personally buy another vehicle from them nor will I recommend them to anyone. Because they have that sneaky, get over attitude. |
