Donegal Insurance Group has redefined "Poor Service". When one pays their electric bill every month and flips the switch voila a light comes on, it's expected! Shouldn't similar results be expected when you pay your monthly car insurance premium month after month, year after year? After being a loyal, and well paying customer, for several years I was involved in a single car accident, no citation was issued merely chalked up to poor road conditions. Therefore no investigation required, no witness testimonies, a fairly open and shut case, that is until you flip the switch and the proverbial light doesn't come on there at the Donegal Insurance Group. The appraisal happen within a week, wow a week o.k. I understand, it's September here in Pennsylvania nasty road conditions I'm certain that the adjuster was extremely busy. It then takes an additional 3 weeks for the bank paperwork, and check to arrive. Now I'm quite certain the postmaster isn't that busy, but it's now October perhaps several folks had bombarded the postal system with Halloween cards and gifts. An entire month lapses and I feel that the entire mess has finally been put behind me... Until one rainy night five months later, that's right good readers March! A pile of metal that resembles my old totaled Saturn is gently placed in front of my condominium neatly gift wrapped with stretch wrap and funny stickers saying "salvage"! Still remaining a loyal Donegal Insurance Group customer at this time I immediately called the corporate office demanding an explanation only to hear that they had lost the secure power of attorney that had been sent to me five months prior! Needless to say, without a secure power of attorney the Donegal Insurance Group could not dispose of the Saturn, so they presented me with a wonderful gift, perhaps that was just their way of saying, "hey we're sorry for the past poor service, here's a nice planter for your garden"! Obviously this was not a happy surprise for me nor the home owners association, so with that I drove 45 minutes from my home to sign yet another secure power of attorney so that they could tow away the scrap heap that now resided in front of my home. The great folks at the Donegal Insurance Group assured me that they would have it towed the following morning.... Alas the morning came and went, as did the afternoon, and evening. Perhaps I misunderstood the fine customer service person at the Donegal Insurance Group when they said "tomorrow morning", maybe they mean't, whenever we get there! It has been three days and several calls, finally I was given the name of the towing company so I could arrange for the disposal! Now that's what I call great service, take my money month after month, and then ask me to make arrangements?! Well I did in fact call the towing company and made arrangements, needless to say it was picked up the same day. Thanks for the great service Donegal Insurance Group! In contrast I have since signed with another reputable insurance company and as luck would have it I was just involved in another accident. Funny thing it took 4 days to get my check and the adjuster came to my place of work with all of the necessary paperwork for the bank and disposal! Save your money dear readers... beware of the Donegal Insurance Group! |
