Direct Computers
Direct Computers Alex Smitherson THEY RIPPED ME OFF AND OTHERS::: PICK ANYBODY BUT THEM FOR YOUR REPAIR'S::: North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina
22nd of Jan, 2011 by User131367
We took our laptop in for repair, they called us when the repair was complete, took it back to our condo, turned on the computer, it worked for 10 min. and quit. On 9/13/2010 the employee Rick from Computers Direct took our Toshiba-L355D writing on the invoice that the screen was black, and can see in sunlight. He later called and said it was the LCD/Inverter, said it would cost $205.19 when done, we picked it up, took it back to our condo and in 10 minutes it quit working again. We took it back, they called us back and said now the power supply board quit, which we believe was broken by them during the first repair as I have contacted other computers shops as they have pointed this out to me. Several of the other shops and stores were in shock as to the price of $205.19 that they charged. They have said this was overly priced for this repair by twice the amount as it is only a $10.00 part. Since they broke our computer, they said they would order the power supply board and put it in or whatever it took at no charge to us to fix our laptop. So on Tues. 9/14/2010 they said they would order the part thru Toshiba and would be in in 3 day's as I told them that we had until Sat. 9/18/2010 before we had to leave. We called on Thurs. 9/16/2010 and they told us they did not order it until Wed. 9/15/2010 and they said it would be there by Fri 9/17/2010 and it would be fixed before we leave. We called Fri., they said no part yet and no deliveries on Sat. They said when the part comes in, they would just send it to our home address and we would have to pay someone else to fix our laptop that they broke. We called them on Mon. 9/20/2010 and everyday until Fri. 9/24/2010. On Fri. 9/24/2010 they said the part come in and it would be another $24.95 for shipping to,our home. His name was James and I went on to tell him that nothing was said about shipping fees and they told us they would ship it to our home address. So now we have a $900.00 laptop that they broke while trying to repair it the first time and now they will not answer or return our calls and this employee James and owner Alex has been so rude and this computer place seems to be run by a group of young, disrespectful, rude individuals that we have spent our money on for them to fix our laptop but still as of today 1/23/2011 are out $205.19 and still with a broken laptop computer. This place Computers Direct has only been in business since January 2010, they have an "F" rating with the BBB, they have been turned in to the South Carolina Department Of Consumer Affairs, they do not know how to run a business nor do they know how to treat customers and they will alway's continue to take people's money and rip them off and they must be stopped by someone in the legal system. They must be stopped.
