We purchased a leather sectional from Designer Furniture Discount in Florida. We did our homework - checked online - no complaints about this company - seemed reputable - spent a great deal of time asking questions and researching - carried top leather lines in their store. Shouldn't have a problem - or so we thought...... Prior to receiving our order and money, the customer service was great. Once they received our order and deposit of $1,900.00, they were nowhere to be found. We wanted to find out delivery status- but no one ever returned our repeated e-mails and calls. We finally received our sectional (a month late which was really not a problem for us), on May 4, 2011. The two end pieces were not manufactured correctly. We called them while the delivery people were here, and they assured us that yes, there was an error (not on our part), they were produced incorrectly, but, that they would immediately fix the problem for us. That was a joke! It was not until September 1, 2011 that I finally spoke with them (yes, 4 months later and many unanswered voice mails and e-mails later too). I had to contact the leather manufacturer who had to send them a threatening e-mail in order to get a phone call. They told the leather manufacturer that they were in contact with me which was a complete lie. Finally, they called me. I was told that they would give me back some money so that we on our own could get the problem resolved. Initially, they told me that they would get a furniture repair person out to fix the problem. Nice customer service, huh? Once again, they assured me that they would take care of the issue right away and that the check was going out right away. They told me they would e-mail me a picture of check. Never received the e-mail. Every time I called, the person answering the phone told me that the check was mailed out. The sales rep. wouldn't get on the phone to talk with me. They repeatedly told me they mailed it on on September 1st and when I received the check it was postmarked October 1. So, all in all, it took over four months to resolve this issue. If you want to avoid months of frustration and being lied to, I would highly recommend never using this company. I certainly have learned my lesson! |
