Dean J. Anthony Christina Toms He's Looking for Theatre Designers New York, New York |

I answered a craigslist add looking for a design team for an AMBITIOUS NEW COMEDY. They have a set designer so far as I can tell. They need lighting, costume, and projections designers. The show is called ;The Fabulous Lies of Hollywood Whores. The author written onto the script is Ben Deagle. I received a reply from someone who only ended her e-mail with the name Christina. She sent me the script, I said I thought it was funny and that I'd like to work on it. Then on Sunday I was contacted by someone named Dean. He was the playwright. I had googled the show name and found a casting notice, so I checked for his full name because I wanted to know who I was working with. Then I found him on this site. I never met him in person, but the address listed was the same as on two of the three previous reports. Furthermore, the details about his assistant being Christina, and the address being the same gave me concern. I e-mailed about this. So.... I googled you and found you reported on ripoff report. To cover myself on this one I'm gonna need phone numbers of other people involved in the project before I proceed. I hope that it's just some bs because I really do like the script, but the details were way to similar to be coincidental. Particularly the bit about Christina. Please get back to me asap, because I'm not gonna start drawings without feeling more secure about this. Not sure i understand this email completely. Jamie Kennedy and Jack Noseworthy are the lead producers of this production and if I pass this email on to any of them I'm sure they'll be equally perplexed by it's relevance. =) And requesting contact info of team members before even being hired is a startlingly request. The bit about Christina'.... ? Best,
Christina Toms I then replied with a link to one of the other reports from this site and have since heard nothing from either Dean or "Christina". http://casting.backstage.com/JobSeekerX/ViewJob.asp?JobID=oWTMHbr4V7cmefVzQlZDxfEqU5we&agnt=2 I will update this after I hear back from Matt Seifnia, the producer listed on the notice, and Michael Coco, the programming director of New World Stages (the location listed on the casting notice as the venue for the show). At this juncture I can only draw conclusions. I thank ripoff report for helping me avoid working with this man. Even if this show turns out to be legitimate, I can't imagine working with someone like this. |
