DataRetrieval.com Data Disk Price was a scam, did not return drives in a timely manner New York, New York |
24th of Apr, 2011 by User732001 |
We sent a hard drive to Data Disk to be recovered. We paid $99 just to have the hard disk looked at. The rep made it seem like the price was going to be relativity low to have it repaired. We sent it over right away along with our newly bought external hard drive so they could transfer the data to it. They called us very quickly and told us it was going to be $1500 + other charges to have it repaired. We told them that that was way too much money and we'd just like it returned right away. He tried asking us how much we were looking to pay, but we weren't willing to pay anything in that range. We had to pay a $25 shipping fee which was extremely high for a small package going to the close location. This fee was not even mentioned on their site. Two days after we asked to have it sent back we wrote to them asking where the package was since they are in NY and so are we. We're only 40 miles away. They apologized and said it was going to be shipped that day. We finally received it the next day. This place is a scam. They charged us $99 just to look at the hard drive, then when we decided we could afford the high price to get the data back, they made us pay a ridiculous $25 to have to sent back in an untimely manner. |

DataRetrieval is a reputed company that offered me a fast service. Their cordial customer support relaxed my anxiety and their price for their excellent service was easy on my pocket. Yes guys when my hard drive failed working, I immediately approached Dataretrieval since i'd heard good feed backs from many. I got discounts since I am a student. All of my college records and my personal photos were retrieved successfully. I recommend their quality service to all who experience data failure from storage media.

Hi, I am Seth.
My 1TB WD external hard drive fell to the floor from a height of 4 feet and got damaged severely. There were more than 600GB of important data stored in it. I approached many data recovery company and they all quoted me a heavy price., i'e more than $2000. Though the amount was beyond my means I gave in my drive for recovery. But after examining it they would all reply that data from my drive can't be recovered at all. So i was almost down when one my friend who is a tecnician suggested me to give a try with dataretrieval.com. I tried dataretrieval as a last hope and my hope turned to my favor. Yes guys they are experienced people in this field. I called them and told the fact that all companies that i approached earlier rejected my drive to be unrecoverable. One of their rep who answered my call told, they will give a try though they can't guarantee. I dropped of my drive at their Houston office. They examined the status of my drive and told that more that 80% of data can be recovered. After getting my approval, they began the recovery operation and finished it in 2 days time. And to my surprise, more than 95% of data were retrieved successfully! I got back all the data needed. DataRetrieval isn't a scam. They are qualified people and they to quality services. The price they charged for recovering data from my critically damaged external hard drive was just $700. I just asked them what it would have costed if it weren't a severely damaged condition. They told it wouldn't have been $300 dollars at the max if it was just a simple data loss problem! The cost increases according to the effort and time for the damage in the drive. Their price is for sure less than the industry's average price. Also their turnaround time to recover data is very fast than other players in the market. My recommendation is, who ever faces data loss problem in their drives can contact DataRetrieval.com with full confidence!! |

I have also been scammed by DataRetrieval.com. They took my $322.00 deposit and delivered no results. They also broke my laptop and then denied all responsibility for it. Finally after 2 months they've let me know that they can't recover my data, after they took my deposit. This company is a total scam and in no way is a reputable business. |
