Took my retainer but did not deliver work

Michele D'Amico's practice is unethical and unprofessional after receipt of a retainment fee. My husband and I are home owners and hired Michele D'Amico, owner of D'Amico Design Group, to help us with our house remodel. We paid DDG a retainer of $1,675 on 5/30/12 and was told we would receive the first schematic design in 2 weeks. After hiring DDG, we never heard from Michele D'Amico with any initial drawings. We were able to make the first meeting with Michele D'Amico on 6/21/12; however, she showed up with no drawings but the excuse of not being able to print. Thereafer, we were always given a push back treatment by similar excuses such as: 1)DDG has other deadlines to meet. 2)DDG cannot print the files. 3)Computer is down. 4)"I have other clients too". We were only able to meet face-to-face to discuss work with Michele D'Amico a total of 3 times after hiring her with a retainer: Meetings Dates: 6/21/12 6/28/12 8/9/12 Michele D'Amico showed up at the last meeting on 8/9/12 with no work to show us. In addition, she spoke to us in an unprofessional manner and raised her voice at us in a public place. She verbalized that she did not want our job and left the meeting; however, she has not provided us a written notice for termination as specified in our agreement.
She is listed on Better Business Bureau as not having enough information for the BBB to rate them, which is odd for a business that has been around since 1995.
