CRI/Roark Travel Misrepresented themselves Branson, Missouri |

Two years ago, my Wife and I bought into CRI/Roark. We were going to do a cruise and CRI/Roark promised that cruises would be at a great discount, plus most tickets would be at a great discount and we could get free tickets to the lights at Shepherd of the Hills. We were also promised no more pressure selling. Last week we were in Branson. We stopped by CRI/Roark to get the free ticket for lights at Shepherd of the Hills and to purchase some show tickets. I walked up to the counter with my “ownership†card in hand. We were told that the Shepherd of the Hills tickets were $41.xx each. I looked confused and said an incredulous $41 each????. She said if we were “owners†we could get them for $35.xx. I waved the card and gave her a questioning look. She ignored the card and said that if we joined the presentation, just getting started, we could get the tickets for $20 plus a coupon for a restaurant . At this point I turned to leave. The lady hollered that we could buy tickets there. That is exactly what I wanted to do. We kept walking right out the door. We left very upset at the arrogant way that we were treated. We bought our tickets for the lights at Shepherd of the Hills for $10 each at the gate. So why were we told that the “free car pass†was $41.xx or $35.xx each? Another scam by CRI/Roark! We also bought our show tickets at another venue and got up to 50% off. Doubt CRI/Roark would have come even close. We have since checked out reviews on CRI/Roark and found out that we are not the only people that CRI/Roark has tried to/cheated by false representation. Last spring we tried to set up a trip thru CRI/Roark online. The message said that a representative would contact us “shortlyâ€. NEVER DID! We made our own trip reservations. I compared CRI/Roark rates from the Hot Week Getaways list to others who have access to the same resorts. I find out that in some cases you rate is slightly cheaper but, the $75 booking fee makes CRI/Roark more expensive for the same resort. So, sadly, I find that we spent several thousand dollars being told that we were buying into a good thing. I now find that CRI/Roark is misrepresenting their business. I tried to send this message a few minutes ago and got the message that it couldn’t be sent. So I try again. CRI/Roark has shut down the e-mail address on their web site. Will try to call them tomorrow. |
