CRC of Virginia, Inc COLLECTING $1000 WORTH OF MAGAZINE ON A RECORDED CONTRACT ,explanation given by the collecting company CCSI, Virginia Beach, Vir |
20th of Apr, 2011 by User362021 |
My 18 years old son received a collection notice from Credit & Collection Solutions, Inc. in Mid Febuary 2011 for a past due of $204.84. I asked my son what was this about. My son explained that he received a call to register for a magazine subcription and that he would receive a diamond watch and he would only need to subscribe to magazine without telling how much, how long, etc, this was on August 2010. Then in February 2011 CRC called my son asking for the payment of previous months, which my son paid wich was only $10 and he asked for cancellation, they asked to pay of he owed which was only $10 and they said they were going to call him back, which they did not. I saw again 2 magazines again and decided to call the collection company CCSI and they explained to me that the contract my son did was a "recorded contract" and that he owes a total of $1000 or more because the deal is that he required to cancel the susbcription 3 days after the first contact. This is redicullos, how come a contract is only recorded, is a recorded conversation a binding agreement, how do they know if the person they are talking to is 18 and older. How come there is no information in the website of this company, how come there is no written agreement following up a conversation by phone about any services. As far as I know, my purchases or service agreement over the phone has always being accompanies by the binding document. The CCSI told me that they could not release the CRC information and they only disclose the purpose for the collection. Thi is really a fraud, when I pick the Rollings Stone magazine is 18.99 per year, how come the subscription is now $1000? how many magazines they have in the the collect recorded contract? however we are receiving only 2 magazines despite of the cancellation request. I will follow up with the State Attorney and the Virginia State Attorney, I will fill out as many frauds complainst as possible because I believe this type of incidents that will damage someone's credit has to stopp. |

I don't want it to hurt my credit but i don't want to pay this BS |
