This morning I was contacted by a woman at Tekhar Group who
told me I am being charged $61.27 for breach of contract with Crafters Choice
Book Club and then told me that she (Tekhar Group) would ruin my credit and I
would not be able to take out a loan for 7 years, I would not be able to take
out a loan to purchase a car or house, etc. I was not given contact information for Crafters Choice Book
Club when I asked to contact them. I was
basically told the only way to make the charge go away was to pay it. She
became rageful when I asked the address for the Tekhar Group. After she began
to give me the address I noted that part of the address included the word unit.
This word seems suspicious to me as addresses in my part of the country that
include the word unit are applied only to storage facilities. She became rageful and threatening and then
hung up the phone without giving me the state or zip code for her organization
to make payment. The second woman I spoke with at Tekhar Group (I spoke with
another woman after the first one threatened me with financial ruin and hung up
the phone) who said that Crafters Choice Book Club sent me 12 invoices for (a) book(s) sent after I requested
that the club quit sending me books for books I did not purchase. In fact, I do not have any books from Crafters Choice Book
Club. If I was sent any books after I cancelled my membership I donated the
book to charity. This feels like
extortion. It is not worth it to hire a lawyer and fight them over $61.27.
So, I will pay this bill, albeit this is not an admission I owe Crafters Book
Club any money. Crafters Choice Book Club runs a hostile scam.
