Cpt. Ed Roberts of Seatow Cape Canaveral Seatow International SEATOW HUGE SCAM - TOWS JETSKI, FILES LIEN, WANTS $2000 Merritt Island, Florida |

My jetski titled to me drifted from my dock. Seatow got a call to tow it from the Sheriff, towed it to their marina on friday 26 Aug. Cpt. Ed Roberts from Seatow Cape Canaveral, FL talks to my ex-boyfriend by phone (the unusual circumstance here is that we split that fridaynight after I found out he was cheating) and both men apparently agree to a pickup Sunday 2 days later for $600. I knew my ex had said something about the sheriff and the ski that day on the phone , but because we separated (after 10 years), I did not know what happened except that the ski had drifted and some company towed it. I am the title holder of the ski. I traced my ex's calls to find out which company it was and then googled all the phone numbers on that day which took a while. On wednesday following ,I called Seatow and found that because my ex did not show on sunday. they filed a lien (after 5 days and no contact with me, the title holder). When I spoke to the lien co. the bill was already way over $1000, and I contacted a maritime lawyer who told me to negotiate a price with Seatow for the tow. I contacted Cpt. Ed Roberts and to say it mildly, he took the opportunity to rant and rave about the whole thing, and after listening to him for a while, I cut him short and said we were not getting anywhere but what amount it would take to settle the whole affair. He replied he would not settle but that I would have to talk to the lien company instead (which I had already tried to no avail) . The attorney then told me to send a registered letter to Seatow to release my jetski immediately (because apparently the law states that they have to unless Seatow files a court action for ownership of the ski. He went on to state that Seatow jeopardises their rights to salvage when they dont release it. I never received a reply to my registered letter but instead the lien company called to say that Seatow received the letter and that as of that date the charged were around $1600 now and every day storage was added for $25. I sent the corporate office of Seatow located in NY a letter on 26 Sept with the request to mediate between their franchise holder and me, but as of today and after 2 voicemails to Mr. Bob Backhaus from Corporate Headquarters, Southold, NY I am still without my jetski. |
