The new definition of insanity is letting an extremely mediocre and extremely third-rate company manage or have anything to do with your co-op apartment building.Akam Associates has to clean house and hire building managers that have common sense, experience, manners, respect,ethics,and some morals.It seems nothing crosses the line when it comes to abuse,lies,violating all kinds of state and city laws that affect the lives of the tenants in Akam managed apartment buildings. Akam Associates manages buildings that were built before the 1950's and has equipment that is still in use in those buildings that needs replacings or very extensive repairs that Akam Associates is turning a blind eye to because they are too cheap to fix the problems.The hugh maintenance fees in the buidings that they manage are meant for these repairs but they hoard these fees and just raise the salaries of the executives that sit on there a**es on 38th St.in midtown Manhattan. What is the justification for letting things practically fall apart before there is even a thought about fixing these items the way they should be fixed.reality check here....Akam if you fix something completely for good the things in your buildings. won't keep on breaking down.When you fix something half-ass it will keep on breaking down and causing problems especially for tenants that deserve peace of mind where they live,and then you won't keep voilating the quality of life that all tenants are entitled to especially in New York city with very strict housing laws for a reason.. This is one company that abuses the quality of life of tenants repeately on many levels under New York state and city laws and think tenants are too stupid and ignorant not to notice. Building managers that look and act like they picked up their knowledgei in a weekend crash course from a book named "How to manage a building for dummies"is a real insult to people that spend hundreds of thousands of dollars for a third rate apartment in a very third rate building with very third rate management. Anyone going into any Akam buiding can see things that need fixing,replacing,but the reall things that need fixing are things that the tenants have to deal with day in and day out.Supers can only do so much espcially when Akam let's the moronic building managers turn a blind eye to things that affect the real quality of life of tenants in Akam managed buildings. |
