Covenant Transport Left them stranded in truck stop Chattanooga, Tennessee

I have two friends who worked for Covenant Transport for nearly a year, their truck broke down in Louisiana. They got to a Petro Truck Stop and were told to get their belongings off the truck and take a bus home for the holidays. This is no way for a Christian Co. to operate. They could at least sent them another truck to get home with. I worked for Covenant back in the spring. I was ready for hometime and had to find my own way home. Meanwhile, my co-driver was able to drive our truck to his home in Houston. I was told by our dispatcher Mitch Varnell that they never have any freight going to Albuquerque, NM.

MITCH Vernell is in fact a Jerk. I had a friend of mine get loose his co driver because of an medical issue. He was told he could driver the truck to the Orlando "Terminal" but he must remain there. He resided in Cocoa Beach, about 40 minutes away. Mitch not only wouldn't let him leave the truck, but he told him he didn't have his time in to go solo. Then after sitting in Orlando for nearly a month, denied him Layover pay for sitting there. He did finally get to go home after the Yard Manager stepped in. Things for him really didn't get any better. He finally got a new co driver, but then about a 2 months later they were in an accident in North Dakota. His co driver was driving. The truck slid on ice that was unforcast, even the State Police Officer who worked the accident was surprised of the ice. They were put on a bus, and sent to Chatt. It took them over a week to get there because of all the weather delays. Since the truck was totaled, his co drivers had to attend an accident review; Even though a Citation was not issued, he was terminated, leaving my buddy with no co driver once again and worst of all stuck in Chatt, aka THE BLACK WHOLE or HOTEL CALIFORNIA. Once again, Mitch wouldn't give my buddy any type of layover after sitting for nearly two weeks. He finally ended up leaving Mitch's board and getting on a Georgia Pacific Dedicated Account. Ironically, Mitch's brother Greg was his F/M. However, Gred was promoted to Planner a guy named Eddie is his F/M now. He takes care of him.
