Coop's Health & Fitness signed a deal to take on the over 8000 member based ZX Fitness that would be closing July 1, 2011. This change started before July 1 and since has been nothing but trouble for members already attending this facility. The first issue is parking, which after the merge took as much as 20 minutes to accomplish and still remains a problem. Although, the gym's added parking, it continues to be full. The second issue is when you do finally get parking and go inside, the facility is packed causing waits at gym machines. Originally my first visit to the gym after the merge I walk in to check in, there are two scanners one per gym. When I make it to the counter I asked what was going on and customer service states not to worry people are cancelling. I asked how I could cancel, was told to wait so they could check my record. The rep replied to me saying the owner had not put a flag on my account to allow me to cancel. To me this indicated the option was given to other members. It became useless after a while to show up at the gym. After taking the next 3 weeks fighting with parking, waiting to use equipment, and management referring me to Finance company to resolve my issue; I make the decision to submit a complaint to the Better Business Bureau. This process wasn't helpful either. The owner replied to my complaints as if he made corrections to rectify parking and equipment use. Furthermore, claims of ZX Fitness members paying more and no one having the options to cancel. However, I have video and pictures showing the parking situation; also there are articles and video segments from local news stating how much ZX Fitness Members pay and the continued issues with parking/overcrowding. Finally, the owner rejects my complaint, with a final reply stating they are firm on their decision not to allow me to cancel, further supported by the represenative assigned by the Better Business Bureau that they are holding to their decision. The day they sent the last reply, I went to the facility to video once again. I purchased a newspaper and included it in the video only to witness again the facility parking full with random parking becoming available within time. I don't see the use going back to a facility I can't be sure I will have access to, but still have to pay for my membership due to this greedy owner. After this video, I received an email from the owner for one hour of training from one of the trainer's to help me get started at the gym? This was a slap in the face, I've been working out at Coop's for over 2 years, why would I need a trainer now? Coop's never prepared for the expansion, but expects the members to make the adjustments and pay extra fees now to expand. I've always paid a fee in Jan., for some reason we have another fee added in July. I feel as if the Gym owner didn't plan and I'm not getting the product I paid and am paying for. Please, help. |
