Just want to take a moment of the drivers time which are looking at this report. I have been in trucking now for 28 years and have driven for a few companies but never one as bad as this company. Lets first take a look at the recruiting they do there. From the start you will catch them in lies which cost you money. They told me on the phone before I came there that after the orientation I would have to wait up to 5 days to be issued a truck. Well no lie there but they told me I would be paid $60.00 a day to make up fo the sitting time. Well....that was lie #1. When I asked how to get my $60.00 a day for the 5 days sitting, (which is now 8 days total being there) My manager said ,"we don't pay 60 a day, but I'll give you 40 a day BUT the first 2 days are free , meaning no pay. They also say they offer Medical & Dental ins. << Was that a lie, hmmm , lets see? During the orientation, we were told that dental isn't available until after the first YEAR and then it's only available if you buy their high priced insurance that has a $2000.00 ded. and a $20,000 max pay out..... no lie there , they do offer it but not for a year and not worth a damn. Moving on, lets take a look at their time off policy....you have to be out on the road at least 7 days...then they will put you on a board to go home but they tell you that you will get home when we get you there.. I missed 2 doctor appts. and they said , oh well, we don't garutee when we will get you home except for X-mas... nice company to work for.... I started noticeing money being takin out of my checks for Equiptment , Well over $500. and when asked, they said you had to pay for their products which you use and ended up leaving in sealed trailers....still trying to get that money back from that.. Lets talk about their loads. You work for Truckload but you will find yourself having to go pick up trailers from their LTL company... Rule 1 is, when you arrive to pick up those trailer use must take a 10 hour break after arriving.. hmmm ....lets see you did nothing all day,...then after 10 or so hours sitting you were dispatched over to pick up a load .... and then your going to have to take another 10 hour break... Lets ask are selves, how far does LTL freight go... Answer, only to the next terminal which I have spent 26 hours sitting to go 200 miles... You see, which is cheaper to move freight by.. A) mileage driver or B) one of the local hourly drivers.....you got it... I have seen up to 10 trucks waiting to grab their trail and make those big bucks.. NOT After finishing the Orientation, I had been there a total of 11 days because yes the windshield leaked and it took 3 more days of sitting....but wait...would that be paid for....nope, you were issued a truck so the waiting period starts over... 2 free days for them...unreal... Ok. after almost 1/2 a month gone at home and I brought very little with me because they repeatedly tell you , "you have no job offer here until oreintation is over" I asked to get a load towards the house... The man looked at me a said , don't care if you like it but your going to Canada...2800 miles from the house.... I told him that I didn't even have a pillow with me or sheets and he looked at me a said " I'm not running a travel agency here" I kept on asking to go home but they didn't get me there for a total of 6 weeks...... There are many more things about this company but I need to move on and forget this whole nightmare... LOOK DRIVERS, DO YOURSELF A FAVOR.... STAY THE H*LL AWAY FROM HERE....... |
