I purchased a used truck - 2006, chevrolet K2500 Silverado, odometer reading 160025 The tires and rims were original and the only thing I did was to rotate them. I was having trouble with a noise in my transfer case so I took my truck to a licensed dealer. When he filed the claim there was no response except for a form letter that didn't have any information to contact anyone. I was finally able to get an email address and sent off a request to find out why nothing was being done. I had been without my truck for 3 weeks by this time. I was told to look on the door frame as there was a plate that listed the exact size of tires. First my mechanic and myself were told that the claim ws denied. When I questioned why I was told that my tires were oversized. At some point after a few more emails (never able to speak to a real person) I was told to send pictures of my tires. I did this. In the contract under coverage it states: 4x4 transfer case - all components of the transfer case that require lubrication for operation. Then over to page 5 where it states Limit of Liability and under Non Factory Tires &/or wheels - vehicles with tire sizes oversized or undersized as per manufacturer's specifications are only covered if selected at time of sale and the appropriate surcharge has been paid in full My contract # FD4356007 account # FSC-439581 effective date 12/7/09 I had purchased my truck in 11/2009 My payments were made on time from 1/7/10 to 2011 total $2975.00 If you check the tires size listed on the plate is 245-75-16 or 30.4" X 9.6" the tires that were on when I purchased the truck and were original 265-75-16 or 31.6" X 10.4" which makes a difference of 1.2" and .8" No one could tell my any pictures that the tires were a little different I feel this is a BIG scam and the whole company is a fraud one can't get real people to talk to and emails are answered with a form letter until we were finally able to get a real email I would advise any one interested in this company not to purchase their warranty Like I said it is a fraud - I am also filling a report to the Consumer Protection Division Office of Attorney General for ND |
