LEASE RIPOFF- BEWARE OF CITADEL AND FINANCIAL PACIFIC
On October Jon Clark from Citadel quoted us monthly pricing, initial payment requirements, and terms for a 3 year lease to acquire a $12,000 JLG Aerial Lift.
After filing out and returning an application for a $12,000 3 year lease, we were notified by Jon Clark at Citadel that the lease was approved, and the he was sending document to sign, and return with a deposit check for $1235.00. LEASE WAS NEVER FUNDED, TERMS WERE CHANGED, ADDITIONAL FUNDS WERE DEMANDED. REFUND WAS REFUSED.
HERE ARE THE SPECIFICS

On October 25,2010 CITADEL notified us, upon receipt of all requested documents that we were approved for the lease of $12,000, for the acquisition of an Aerial Lift.
On November 15, 2010 CITADEL sent us the lease documents, along with a request for $1235.00 (First and Last month lease payments and a documentation fee).
On November 16, 2010 CITADEL received the signed documents and the check for $1235.00
On November 18, the check cleared our issuing bank.
On Nov 19th, I notified CITADEL. after no further responses, that I was concerned about information I had received about the business practices of CITADEL, and Jon Clark returned my call immediately (as he did know for sure that the check had cleared at this point.) to reassure me that the deal was complete, and that you were just very busy.
On November 24, CITADEL contacted the vendor of the lift, and asked them to release the unit to us, unpaid and that CITADEL would get them paid in 30 days They refused, contacted us and told us they were looking to sell the unit to another party unless we concluded the deal.
On November 29th, CITADEL asked for and received the Corrected Invoice made out to Financial Pacific Leasing LLC, which CITADEL told us was the last thing you needed to get the lease funded.
On December 2,6, an 7th I have sent CITADEL follow up requests to update me on the status of the lease being funded.
On December 4, 2010, I contacted Dave Anderson at Financial Pacific LLC, who informed me that there was no reason for any delay of this sort, and the he would contact Citadel, and have them contact me to finalize the lease.
On December 8, 9, 10th, I contacted via email Mark Mendoza Owner of Citadel to express my concerns. He assured me that he was personally taking care of the lease funding.
On December 13, Darin Charin, contacted me to discuss a "Modification" to the agreed upon lease. The term would have to be changed to 2 years from three, the payment went up by 55% and this was all because the amount was SO SMALL. I told him to send me the revised documents and I would review.
On December 14th Christina Gonzales "Funding Coordinator" for Citadel Equipment Finance Corp. sent me revised documents with Financial Pacific listed as the leasing company, and a requested for an additional $684.00 to "Finalize the deal". I refused to send any more funds, as the lease they were asking me to sign requested an amount less than the amount I had already sent to Citadel previously.
On December 15, 16. I notified Citadel, that since the lease terms had changed from the previous agreement that we were no longer proceeding. We had already bought and paid for the piece of equipment and no longer needed their services.
We requested an immediate refund of our $1235.00, as they were unwilling to fund the lease as in the terms, and as of now, NO RESPONSES from CITADEL or FINANCIAL PACIFIC, NO REFUND AND NO FUNDING OF THE LEASE BEWARE.....
DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE FIRMS.

Same thing happened here. These crooks really need to be stopped. They appear legitimate, have a nice website, but It's the old bait and switch, get your personal info, take the money and run. I've lost thousands to them...

We have a state attorney general and laws in place to curtail any predatory lending practice. I laughed outright at the terms offered to me byFinancial Pacific. They most definately need to be looked at, and I have saved my correspondence if any action is taken at a state or federal level.
