I am a 63 year old woman. I had horses as a young adult. I was shopping for a horse when I ran into Chris Ripley online, in Horseclicks, where people advertise there horses for sale. I called and explained to him about my age and abilities pertaining to horses. He told me about his horses and I agreed to go to his farm and take a look as to what he had. The following weekend I and my daughter, her husband, and my sister went to look at them. The first horse he brought in acted poorly so he said he didnt want to show it and took it outside. He brought in another and saddled it up. It was raining and sleeting outside but he took it out and showed us how nice the horse was . It appeared to be ok. He told us that anyone that could get on the horse and hold the reins could ride it. I told him I had bad knees and would have a problem getting on. He assured me the horse was very tolerant and would stand with no problem. We discussed the horse for close to an hour. I was a little reluctant to purchase the horse. He then told me that "If I was worried the horse wasnt what he said it was", that he would personally guarantee it. He said he would buy the horse back if it wasnt exactly as he had stated. I bought that horse and took it to a friends stable. First of all, the horse kicked at a man feeding the horses. About a week later I took the horse out to brush it. After about two minutes the horse kicked at me. A few minutes later he kicked at me again. I took him back to the pasture. A short time after that the people that own stable called to let me know the horse was sick. He had the strangles. Not only was he sick, he had now exposed all the other horses there, 29 to be exact! I called Chris for over two weeks and he would not answer me. Finally I sent him a message and told him I was going to take him to court. Then he answered. I told him I wanted my money back as he had promised. He refused to do so. Then he hung up on me and wont answer my calls. As I said, I am 63 and live on Social Security. I sold my travel trailer to buy that horse. Now I dont have a trailer and I have a horse that is worthless to me.

I would agree with you hes tries to say every horse that he sells is kid safe and broke and they are not. and he tries to sell them for way more then they are worth. he gets horses from people that cant ride them because they are UNSAFE and then tries to resale then for a ton more and say they are broke. I would never buy anything from him not even a fly. He is a liar cheater no good person. And he uses everybody that he ever crosses paths with so be careful of this boy if you ever cross paths with him. And NEVER buy anything from him. |
