Purchased two home warranty policies after their sales rep., contacted me. $330/home, $45 service call, 13 month coverage for annual premium. $660 for TOTAL PACKAGE...(pd in full) Condo: (a/c, furnace) as one in ceiling. Compressor stopped working, burned out. Unit blows room temp air, hot or cold. Condo has two separate a/c units, each 3 ton. one works perfectly, second dead. Contacted CHW. 1st contractor, said they will no longer service any work from CHW, THEY CHW NEVER PAYS, takes up to 7 months to collect. called again CHW. 2nd Cont: Honest, said he was inexperiened and this project was over his head. called again CHW 3rd Cont: CHW gave number to company no longer in business. called again CHW 4th Cont: Great guy, experienced, met at condo. Diagnosis burned out compressor, runs, heats up extremely hot, wont cool/ or heat room accordingly. Repair: $1200 compressor, ~$2000 labor, have to remove unit from ceiling. CHW told contractor #4, CHW would get back to # 4 next day. No response, contractor has called numerous times, and sent numerous emails, company will NOT return phone calls or answer Contractors emails. CHW, Today, 13 year supervisor contacts client via phone. 4/2011 We understand your compressor is needing to be replaced, according to #4 contractor. The repair bill is $750. Told CHW, according to #4 contractor, Compressor was $1200 + $2000 labor. Twenty minutes into Conversation, CHW supervisor, says, "I have further bad news", your not covered. There was a MISUNDERSTANDING from our sales rep. We will refund your $660 premium. How convenient, when the repair bill is larger then the annual premium, claim is denied, and there was a misunderstanding told by the company representative, and every other representative including five supervisors, plus this 13 year supervisor before I took out policy and paid for in full. Making sure heat pumps are covered, not including geothermal. Which this unit is not, geothermal. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR. GOOGLE "Complaints against CHW" rated 'F' by BBB from NJ. Then run away, don't walk...and get your money back, ASAP. |
