The service claims to offer egg donor and surrogate services. They additional claim to work with gay couples and have in office in the USA with affiliates here. The website charges $75 to select from among many photos and one sentence description of potential egg donors. After that is selected, they request a $10,000 deposit to start the process. Before sending the $, I demanded a contract. They sent a copy of an online contract used during a surrogate case litigated in the 1980's. They didn't bother to modify it. They refused to connect me to their lawyer. Nevertheless, we were driven to have our dream, ignoring the many other red flags, we sent our $10,000 and went to China. They kept changing their meeting point because they reminded us that this activity is illegal in China. We met a man dressed in raggedy clothes on a street corner and he placed us in a moldy, run-down dorm room in a local college. The next day we went to the hospital to provide the sperm sample. After a few doctors refused to cooperate, we went to another hospital where they are setup to take these samples. We were told that in a few weeks we will get email status updates about how the surrogate was doing. After awhile the updates stopped and we continued to email and phone them with no reply. Then in several months they contacted us saying that since they hadn't heard from us, they stopped the process and we should send several hundred dollars to keep remaining sperm for the next insemination. We contacted the local police and haven't done anything since.
