I read a report on your site that is just about the same as mine where this company (Central Subscription) and other such magazine companies are charging my credit card for magazines that I do not want, did not intentionally order , have sent back, and was told that the subscriiptions could not be cancelled and I would be responsible for multiples months and hundreds of dollars for magazines I never wanted and am not receiving. I have received multiple calls from these companies stating that I agreed to this and did not cancel during the 3 days that I had to do it even though I didn't even know the names of the companies or get anything from them allowing me to cancel. They are not only doing this but are charging muchmore than the magazine sell for if I bought them myself. For instance, I was told that Family Circle was $5.00 an issue. I am not only being charged hundreds or thousands of dollars for all this, but am being harrassed and getting stressed and sick over it all. I believe that these companies some how get information on retirees and/or older people and target then. |

I just received a call from Certified Readers asking if I'm receiving my magazines. I never ordered any, never received anything in the mail directly from this company, obviously never had the opportunity to cancel the subscription. I've also received calls in the past for the same purpose from Readers Group.
Here's the kicker... I do actually receive some magazines, and have for months. After feeding their data mining questions with false info, I was finally (again) able to talk to a "manager." I explained that I never ordered anything and, although they say I should be getting billed on my Visa card, I haven't ever seen a thing from them on my credit card statement. I'd certainly notice an extra $49.99 every month.
The "manager" then said he couldn't cancel my account because he's only in charge of reducing the monthly payment amount. He wouldn't give me a business address or phone number, said all calls from the company are outgoing only.
Why do I receive magazines without paying for them? I'm worried I'll be charged at the end of several years at about $50/month, at which time this will become a law suit. |

I received the same phone call claiming I ordered their suscription from some website. Now notified after the 15 day due date and cannot unsubscribe. Does anyone know how to unsubscribe? |

The same thing is happening to me, never signed up for this, when talking to any kind of supervisor or supposed manager they say they cannot cancel my account, they have billed me 3 times and haven't received a single magazine, they keep saying they are looking into it with the magazine company..when I said that I was going to put a stop payment on my account so they could charge me anymore and they said it would go to collections...if anyone knows what I can do to get out of this I'd appreciate it. |
