If you think of opening an account with Cascade bank I suggest you do homework and hear what victims of this bank's unfair banking practices have to say. Don't be fooled by the description "locally owned bank" or "Washington's own bank". This bank is as crooked as the big guys: US Bank, Bank of America, Chase.


I opened an account with them nearly 2 years ago. I thought: it's a local bank, small establishment, I am sick of being ripped off by the big chain national banks, how much worse can it be. Well, you don't really get much from them, not even adequate customer service.


With the passing of the new law where customers can opt in or out of 'whatever they call the new overdraft policy' because it's only understandable to them and not the consumer, they really got smart at it.


I clearly indicated: I wanted to opt out. If I don't have sufficient funds in my account don't gamble, reject all transaction and any charges that hit my account be it debit card, check or automatic payment. If I leave my account empty it's for a purpose. Apparently they interpreted it their own way and thought they could beat the system against all odds.


I intentionally left my account empty so no transaction could go through. For some reason Cascade bank ignored my request and approved an unwanted electronic payment and left my account in negative. Then an overdraft charge, negative balance daily fees. How can you trust these hooligans? What, was that transaction more important than me, their customer. No, they don't care. They want to hit you and hit you real hard.


Called the local branch, got spitted in the face. They wanted me to cover the amount of that unwanted transaction and the NSF fees. No way, not me, they won't see a penny from me. So I turned around and left the mess behind, they caused it, let them clean their own act.


Now they closed my account and sent it to collection. Who do they think they are trying to outsmart? I've seen this before. Not a chance.


My advice: if you have an account with them close it and find yourself a credit union to do business with. CU's are better at banking, fair and professional. Cascade Bank is joke, a bunch of unprofessional, unhelpful, greedy and big time gamble individuals.


NOT THE BANK YOU CAN TRUST. Don't make the mistake l did, don't do business with them. It's not the customer they care about, it's the money that they are trying to pull out through various tactics and dishonest practices. Another member of the brotherhood. You think the big banks are bad, wait until Cascade Bank pull the strings. Definitely not a bank worth your attention.
