CASA DORADA - CABO SAN LUCAS GLOBEQUEST TRAVEL CLUB TIME SHARE scam Internet, Other

BEWARE!! CASA DORADA representatives are LIARS.

We were sold a time share package in November, 2010 by a salesperson at Casa Dorada named George. Initially, we were not going to buy the package, but were convinced it was a good deal because it included the use of free spa and golf at another resort they had. We even told him the only reason we were buying was because extra weekat their all-inclusive resortwith the free golf and spa services .

We spoke with him about my wife and her friend getting free massages and spa treatments while me and my friend golf. We even asked how they could afford to provide the services so inexpensively and asked if we could use both our weeks at their other resort - Zoetry Casa Del Mar. The FREE golf and FREE spa services at Zoetry Casa Del Mar was the only reason that we decided to purchase.

About a month after purchasing, I called Zoetry Casa Del Mar (their all-inclusive resort) to find out about booking a trip for March for one of my employees. However, prior to that, I went on trip advisor to see some reviews. I thought everyone would be talking about the unlimited spa services and free golf (seemingly the best part of the package). However, no one mentioned anything about that. So, before booking, I called the hotel and asked if they included free spa services and golf. They said no! They said they give a free complimentary 20 minute massage per guest and have some discounts on golf . They suggested I call Casa Dorada sales to resolve the issue.

The people at Casa Dorada DON'T CARE!!! They said this George guy is their best salesman - probably because he lies to everyone. They said I was bound by the contract and it didn't matter what he said. After my problem, I also researched CASA DORADA and GLOBEQUEST TRAVEL and found numerous other complaints about their slimy tactics. They give you a "floating" week, which they tell you can be booked at anytime during the year. What they don't tell you, is that they open up almost no inventory for this time-share program. My wife tried to find availability for next Thanksgiving and they only had one room available (that is 11 months in advance).

The bottom-line is you won't find out the real truth until after you have signed up - SO DONT!! Once you do find out the truth, it is too late. They will do nothing to resolve the problem. They just threaten that if you don't continue to make your payments, they will sue you.

DON'T STAY AT CASA DORADA!!! AND NEVER SIGN UP FOR A TIME-SHARE WITH GLOBEQUEST TRAVEL CLUB!!!

I got the total misinformation treatment from the same George. He is smooth and friendly and he did his job well on me and I signed the contracts. I decided as soon as I got home that I wanted to cancel my contract with them. There were some good reasons. But, so far, Globequest is hanging in there and informing me that they have me under contract and I am going to have to be a member whether I want to or not. Or they are going to try to make me pay a penalty. Why should I be penalized for changing my mind? What kind of business wants to force people to participate against their will? If their product is as good as they say it is, they shouldn't care at all if someone changes their mind. They can just sell their wonderful program to the next guy in line. If someone wants to cancel a contract and back out, Globequest will not have suffered and damages at all except they won't have gotten any of the buyer's money. So now what? Globequest...gonna sue me? Gonna sue someone because they have decided they don't want your product? What a bunch of money grubbers!!! If I can't get out of this Globequest deal, I am going to become a one man publicity campaign to raise awareness about this outfit. The LA Times Travel section will be a good start. And then it will be on to Conde Naste Magazine. I will be relentless!

CasaDorado...Buyers beware! They have unilaterally raised the maintenance fees by 33% and are going higher without notifying people. Once you have purchased you can't do anything about it except pay the outrageous increases or don't use your time and lose your money. We were very disappointed with the shady way they have done this.
