We went online to Hotel Burgess.com and saw an advertized "bed and breakfast". After contacting the owner, we decided to stay in Reedley, CA for three nights. We "settled" on $540.00 "out the door" as the owner said. We weren't able to arrive until 10 pm at night. The check-in was from 3 til 9 pm. After we checked out, he charged us an extra $25.00 on the credit card for "late check-in". I've heard of late check-outs, but never late check-ins. There was no breakfast to order as their ad online stated. the owner said there were muffins and coffee in the lobby. The first morning we overlooked this. There was no internet in the rooms as implied on their website because he said he changed carriers and it was too expensive. Cable was "too expensive" also, so he switched to satelite where every thirty seconds or so the screen froze and looked like a jig saw puzzle. No tv either. After the second night, I said enough is enough. In the morning, I told the owner we were not staying there the third night unless everything was operating to which he said, "There are no refunds." I told him that we would pay for the first two nights we actually stayed there, but not the third night we were there. He repeated "there were no refunds for any of it." I told him I would be contesting my credit charge for the third night if he charged the full amount. I checked my statement on line and then found out about the full charge and the $25.00 late check-in fee. He simply said, "Good luck with that." Maybe noone has ever contested a charge with this clown, but he will find out that mastercard and visa don't pay on fraud.
