I applied for two positions on a UK web site (Administrative Assistant & Accounts Payable - totaljobs.com) but I now feel that the advertisements were false especially after reading a previous report - Report: #640093.


I have seen the same adverts on other UK web sites too.


These are the responses I received.

Your name has been shortlisted for the Online Assistant for Administrative Assistant.The Quality of your resume was highly considered by the board before you were selected. Your appointment letter would be included in the equipments coming to you. Kindly note that the need to fill up this positions are urgent in order to get our unprocessed logs of client's data completed. There would be a One week extensive training after you must have received the equipments needed for the duty from the company's warehouse. All cost for software and shipping the equipment to you is covered by the company. Kindly read and answer the following payroll questions below. I am now very cautious and won't be responding to these companies anymore, although I did answer the questions above yesterday.


When I originally read report 640093, I was concerned but because the company names were slightly different I didn't think too much of it. Once I received todays response, I now suspect something isn't quite right.


I have posted this repost so that others are cautious when dealing with these companies. They state vacancies in London and their emails talk about 'home working'?
