Career Network, Inc Employment Scam Orlando, Florida
7th of Nov, 2010 by User302264
I am a person looking for a job and replying to many jobs online like through Monster.com. I received an e-mail stating: I recently saw your resume online and think that you will make a great addition to our team. We are currently searching for an individual in the Oceanside area who has previous administrative and clerical experience. If you are interested in this position please complete the online application below:
I tried several times to complete the online application and finally gave up. The website has many problems.I tried to contact the company but their website only lists an e-mail. I e-mailed them several times and received on response other than the same e-mail resent to me but by other people/e-mail accounts.I also replied to the e-mails asking for help but again no response.
I guess you can say I'm the idiot because I usually Google each company before sending out any information but this time I didn't until it was too late. Had I found this site earlier I wouldn't have replied.
Listed below are the e-mail addresses/names of the four e-mails I received for the one (scam) job. If you ever get an e-mail from these people you'll know it's a scam. They all have the same reply email.
Pam Rutherford [email protected] Johns [email protected] Lynch [email protected] Klien [email protected]
Besides, what legitimate company uses a P.O. box and has no phone number - only one that wants to scam you.

I just wanted to add to the list of names to watch out for: Debra Goodman, Regional recruiting Manager.

I got one with the same name, Debra Goodman, Regional Recruiting Manager. I was suspicious, however, I was a bit confused as to whether she was with Career Network or possible a potenitla employer. As above, I really should have googled first. Anyway, I thought they already have me resume, so what's the harm in submitting it again. Once I had filled out the information on the page, I got a message where I had to them call 888-595-6242. They person who answered the call knew my name without me saying, so perhaps they are utilizing caller id or maybe a more sophisticated system. Anyway, this woman stated that they need to "verify" the information which I had provided & make sure that I was qualified for the position & it would take from 5-15 minutes. I said I didn't have the time right them. This to me seems really odd, since what is the point. If they provide skills assessment, how could that be done correctly over the phone? They could ask the same questions online, or better yet set up online tests. Second, how does that verify accuracy. I mean, if a person had lied on their resume, are they really going to admit it to the rep? So they have my name, number, & address for my po box, which I sent to all jobs I am interested in from craigslist or wherever I am looking, obviously they want more. Needing to find a job is not that much fun so I really resent the time spent on scams, not to mention wondering what info they are looking for. Perhaps I should call back to see what they are trying to get by giving false answers but I don't want to put any more energy into this. Certainly they don't care about my job skills, I wonder if they are trying to get a social security number or bank account number "for direct deposit" or something like that. AVOID CAREER NETWORK. THEY ARE A SCAM.

I also received the same e-mail from Debra Goodman, a regional recruiting manager. I send my resume and letters. Finally I found out that it was a scam.It is very heartful to abuse people's time and resources during this difficult economic time.

Thanks guys for posting this. I have received an email from Debra Goodman, Regional Recruiting Manager. I didn't send any information. I search first where to find the office but there is no address and telephone numbers. This is a big help.
