I gave them 3,800 dollars to protect me in a bankrupsy and over a year later I still have the same problem This has had a great toll on my life trying to protect myself, in short I just don't think that they care about what has happened to me all they wanted is my money once they got that they stopped caring if I got help or not, Let me explain in more detail, First I did not know what to do but when push came to shove there was only one choice Bankruptsy, a dirty little word to say the least. Caplan was recomended to me and not knowing anyone in this feld I went and saw Stephn Caplan a mistake that I regret now but they were all nice nice to me so I gave them the money 3,800 Dollars it was more than what others were charging but I thought I have to protect myself and it would be worth it in the long run, I went back home and gave them all of the information that they required and I waited nothing happened I would call and no one would return my calls for days or even ever, they were always sorry and that it would not happen again, I gave the atturny my information and he recomended that I do a chapter 13 not knowing the problems that that would come up I went along with the
recomendation, again I trusted them that they knew what they were doing and I was assured that everything would be okay and not to worry. That was a mistake, as time went buy I was told that we needed to do a chapter 7 instead of a chapter 13 keep in mind that this was almost a year later, they said since my situation had changed that I should do a chapter 7 nothing was said that if I did that I would have to give them more money to do a chapter 7. I got a letter in the mail that stated the case was dismissed and I thought that they had done the chapter 7 and that was it. Three months passed and since I did not hear from them I thought that was great news they did a chapter 7 and that was that. Not so fast boys and girls, my ex-wife came to the house we are still friends and talk a lot and she took a look at the paper that I got in the mail, and she told me that this only dismissed the 13 and that from the looks of the letter she could see why I thought my case was over, she said to call and make sure, so I did and just like I said the PA on the phone told me that the case was over and that that was it and that I did not have to do anything else and I did not owe anyone case closed. My EX was listing on the phone and heard that the PA had said but she did not believe her. When I got off the phone thinking everything was Okay they had done there job great, NOT. I called there again and explained what my EX-Wife had said and then and only then did the PA understand that she was wrong and my EX was right, they never called emailed me to tell me that. If it was not for my EX-wife and our friendship Time would have ran out and I would have lost my house, but now I had to file a chapter 7 so not only is my case not over after a year the atturney wanted to see me to talk about the case Okay fine so I went in and found out what they wanted MORE MONEY to file a chapter 7 I had gotten nothing done in over a year 17 months later I am still in the same jam that I was over a year ago. To say the least I was pissed and I felt that they did not give a crap about helping me they just wanted more money.
And no I am not giving them anymore I am going else where to get this done right. I called today to get my case file that I payed 3800 dollars for and they said that they wanted more money to make me a copy of it and until I pay I can not have what I payed 3800 dollars for. What a scam company not only did they not look out for my best interest but won't give me what I have already payed for.
