Camping World Fraudulent Repair Estimate For Motorhome Roof Ft Worth Texas

On April 17 I took my motorhome to Camping World in Fort Worth to get their standard rubber roof cleaning and recaulking on which they were running a special. The service technician inspected my roof and told me it was unrepairable and would have to be replaced. He said there was extensive damage, cuts etc. He suggested that I report this to my insurance company as damage from falling limbs. That would have been insurance fraud. He said his service manager would make a written estimate of the cost of this roof replacement. He didn't look at or ask for details about the roof damage. I have that estimate in my possesion and it totaled $6,705.15. He then charged me $49 for making the estimate. I left and the next Tuesday I took the motorhome to American RV in Arlington Texas and asked them to do the same cleaning and recaulking job I had asked Camping World to do. Their technician inspected the roof and said he found no damage and that they would do what I asked. It was done and the charge was $340. I also have that receipt. Camping World lied about my roof and suggested I commit Insurance Fraud to provide them with that $6,700. They have probably done that same thing to many other unsuspecting customers and gotten away with it. I sent this information along with copies of the receipts to the President of Camping World in Bowling Green Kentucky. I asked for my $49 back. No one replied. I reported this to the Fort Worth Better Business Bureau and they could not get the Fort Worth Camping World people to respond. I posted my story on their own Camping World Forum on the Internet. I would like everyone to know about this so they won't be victimized as I almost was. Jerry
