My name is Mrs. Cameron from Surrey; I am a widow in my 70’s. Hearing of this site, I am telling people about my horrible experience with Simon from GC Heating. In May 2011 I was called by ProGas and Heating for my annual furnace servicing. An appointment was made for May 21, 2011, ProGas informed me that they had hired a sub contractor to help service their customers and I would be serviced by GC Heating this year. Trusting ProGas because I had never had a problem with them in 12 years I thought nothing of it. On May 21, 2011 as expected GC Heating knocked at my door and I let in a gentlemen call Simon. 25 minutes later, Simon had finished servicing my furnace and informed me the inducer fan was coming apart and should be replaced and my main blower motor was also noisy and should be replaced. Knowing the inducer fan had a problem because it was making a terrible noise I gave Simon the go ahead to repair my inducer fan only. Before proceeding Simon asked for payment of the servicing and a $300 cash deposit for the inducer fan repair. Like a silly fool I agreed and paid Simon $400 cash, he said he would “return later that day” to do the repair. Needless to say, Simon did not return later that day, nor any other day for that matter. After many failed attempts at trying to contact Simon I called ProGas to find out what was happening and where my inducer fan was including Simon. ProGas informed me; they had no information from Simon about any inducer fan repair or my $300 and said they would look into it. After weeks of waiting I was told there was nothing ProGas could do. ProGas informed me they had an invoice from Simon for $99.00 only and that they trusted Simon and could not do anything without documented proof. On February 1, 2012 I was contacted by Eddie Lowe from ProGas. I was informed Simon from GC Heating had been fired December 2011 for doing repairs of ProGas customers without informing ProGas and pocketing the money. Mr. Lowe said this was not the first time Simon had been caught doing repairs and pocking the money and over 60 complaints had recently surfaced related to GC Heating and that Simon and his brother Wilson had been misleading and lying to him all the way along. He now believed my story about the $300 and would help me. On February 24, 2012 ProGas came to my home, re-serviced my furnace (it took 1 hour) I paid $119.95. They fixed my inducer fan with no further charge. Upon inspection there was nothing wrong with my blower motor. Sincerely L Cameron |
