Cambridge Who's Who. Telephone Selling SCAM - Linked In invite to join Cambridge Who's Who. Uniondale, New York

ANYONE on LINKED be careful of invites from CAMBRIDGE WHO's WHO. This company is operating a scam with professionals by setting themselves up as a professional
networking company. They got my contact details from â€˜Linked Inâ€™ and indicated that I had been selected as a member due to my status on Linked In. They call and tell you, you have been selected to join their networking org. They indicate that this is an amazing privilege, and continue to â€˜interviewâ€™ you, after they have fawned and flattered, you get the hard sell.
This is when you realise that, this is not a free networking group on LinkedIn but a telemarketer who is getting your credit card details to continue to hound and obtain money from you on a regular basis. They deducted a total of $788 from my credit card despite the fact that they have no written agreement or contract with me and under NY law this is required for transactions over $500. I spoke with them and they have refused to refund, in fact, they tried to do a hard sell on me, asking me to pay $789 for entry into a hard cover Cambridge Who Who directory, that has a short print deadline and they would send to me next year and that I needed to sign up or I would miss the opportunity and print date.
When I said that â€˜this was a scamâ€™, with their hard telephone selling approach then they try and embarrass you into agreeing to paying them money by suggesting that you can't afford it and reduced the cost of entry to $200 and then to $100. When I indicated that they were trying to scam me for money, they replied by saying that it is because I have not yet used their services I do not see the benefit. I have written to them asking for a refund, as yet I have received no response.
