Cactus Jacks Auto Sales Downpayment Money Scam and Ripoff Phoenix, Arizona
11th of Apr, 2011 by User917963
I purchased a call at Cactus Jack's Auto Sales and almost from the beginning the staff, other than Izzy and Ernest, have been extremely rude. Two weeks after having the car I attempted to log onto their website to make a payment and it would not let me login. I called and talked to Ernest, who transferred me to finance. Whoever the female was that answered the phone was very rude. Kept cutting me off and told me that I needed to call back on Monday...she never let me explain why I was calling. After hanging up I drove to Cactus Jacks and made my payment. Two weeks later it's time to make another payment and I go to the store to make the payments and was told that my credit card had been declined. The representative did set me up with a password to make a payment online. I came home logged into my bank account and there is the payment -- that was supposedly declined showing as pending at my bank. I checked my account again on Monday and the payment was still showing at pending...so I called my bank and asked why it was still showing as pending and explained that the dealership had told me that the payment was declined. The bank representative told me that the payment was funding and would go through within 24 hours. Now we get to today...Sharon, the manager from Cactus Jacks called me and went off on the phone before I could tell her anything, she was very rude. I first tried to explain to her that the payment was showing pending and that the bank said it was funding. She told me that was not true my card was declined and she was looking at the screen. Again, I tried to explain to her and she kept interrupting me and I lost my temper and said a lot of things I would not normally say but I was tired of being talked to like I was a second class citizen. After hanging up I called my bank again and asked to speak to a manager & she told me that yes indeed my payment was funded...but if the dealership does not claim it would come back to my account. The reason I say that it is a ripoff is that the person in front of on Friday was told the same thing...her card was declined and given log in information. I suspect this is a scam that Cactus Jacks is running where they get money from the customer twice...the supposedly declined payment & another payment to "cover the declined" payment. I refuse to pay more. I told Sharon/Sherry or whatever her name is to come get the car and I want my $410.00 back when they receive it...she told me that I would not get anything back. Don't shop there...there are a lot of other dealerships take your money somewhere they until good customer service and know how to talk to people. You don't have to be treated like trash or a second class citizen just because your credit is bad. My motto has always been I won't beg and pay...if you're giving me something for free...maybe...but if I'm paying for it...no way. So learn from my $410.00 mistake...don't go there.

Your story is really unfortunate. I made a payment for $191.00 this past Friday and they called 30 mins after I paid to tell me that they put it into the wrong persons account which ending up being $220.00 instead.and that they sent the payment back into my account. I have been checking my bank account everyday since Friday. Nothing. She said it was pending. I finally called my bank today and they said that there was no record of anything being pending. So I just called Cactus Jacks on Camelback to find out whats going on. I was on hold then they hung up on me. Called back and talked to the payments department and they said the system was down today which I have to call back tomorrow. This is SOO annoying. I will not be getting ripped off. If I have to file a law suit I will...

I purchased a car and had no issues. I was planning on going back. Which cactus Jacks did you purchase from?

My car was repossessed in March. I paid the fees to get it back. I signed a new payment agreement. CJA finance agreed to take the payments on agreed dates. They fail to do so and I made a call to remind them to run the payments on my credit card. They missed another date and I wrote them a letter on June 20, 2011 reminded them they are not holding up to their agreement. They took two payments prior to the agreed date and attempted to take another payment 4 days later..They repossessed my car from the parking lot in another state while I was attending a track meet on July 29th. I offered to make the payments current and they said I was in default for not making the payments when it was their responsibility to deduct it out of my account.
