I was encouraged by the sales rep. at Tiger Direct to purchase this product. I did because I relied on their reputation and the 60 day money back guarantee on the product. Installed the product and discovered it was much less than advertised. A very poor tool and of no value to me. I attempted to return it to Tiger Direct after one week. They advised that this item was guaranteed by the maker and that the refund came from them not Tiger Direct. Red flag #1
Completed the refund process on the phone with a call center working on behalf of CA Technolgies.....red flag #2....in August 2010. After 4 weeks with no refund check, as promised, I called again and was told my refund was approved and the check would be sent out that week. Red flag #3. This game continued every 2 weeks....I'd call and they'd say the check was in the mail .....until early December. They even told the Tiger Direct customer support representative who called on my behalf that "the check would go out tomorrow."
We waited another two weeks and the check never did arrive....still hasn't !
Tiger Direct eventually refunded the full purchase price, which the should have done in the first place and saved me nearly 4 months of being lied to by who ever answers the CA Technologies "refund line." No doubt that arms distance relationship is in place so that CA Technologies can claim plausible deniability and blame the clearing house for the deceptions.
Stay away from this company and any of their guaranteed products. Not only, in my opinion, is the product not worth the investment but I was left with the impression that their business practices are despicable. I was lied to repeatedly, deceived with delay tactics clearly designed to wear the consumer down so you give up and never do get a refund. Money in their pocket and that is the plan. Any company whose business plan and success pivots on deception through lies and misrepresentation should be avoided at the very least. |
