Lee Haner contacted us when we were in the process of applying for a loan mitigation with our mortgage lender. As people who belong to the human freaking race, we were, naturally, feeling extremely vulnerable and wanted to do everything possible to save our home. We have six children, and my husband and I had been out of work for a short time, so we wanted to renegotiate our terms and get a lower payment if possible. Mr. Haner was sympathetic, personable, and allayed my worries about being taken advantage of by mentioning his own family,the families he had helped, and gave me information so I could look up his firm and credentials. Everything seemed in order. The telephones were answered by a receptionist. The website didn't seem fly-by-night. THere were many testimonials on line that the company was legit. I have to say, in the end, though, that it was Mr. Haner's attitude that "sold" me. I am gullible, I suppose. I couldn't believe that a person could so calmly and in such a friendly manner reassure a trembling, terrified homeowner that it would be okay and that they would get to work right away. He said he had young children, too. He said that he had a brother who lived n a town near me. I don't object to the loss of the money we gave to his "firm" ($3300) nearly as much as I am appalled that a human being could so blatantly lie to another human being over a matter of such import. He's not just taking our money! He robbed us of the security that we felt once we'd sent over the paperwork (which was all very official). He hindered the process of working out our loan (which is still ongoing). I know there are bad people out there, but someone who rips off someone by gaining their confidence over something so elemental, a person's home and family, is not just a con artist. He is evil. How many old folks got taken? How many new parents with little babies? How many young people who had just lost their jobs? I consider myself a pacific person (which is probably why I got taken). I hope, however, that this man, and others like him, go to hell, and burn there for a long, long time. Like eternity.
