Brakes plus is a scam, they are thieves. I worked for Brakes Plus until recently. Believe me they screw their employees as much as they do customers. Brakes plus hires technicians not mechanics, not ASE certified technicians. This causes a lot of bad work and missed repairs to your car. They don't always know what they are doing and miss diagnose most of your repairs. From the technicians to the parts, you're not getting your money's worth. They say Akebono pads top of the line. Maybe one out of five ceramic brake pad jobs get Akebono. The others four out of five get checker auto, autozone or who ever else has a cheap ceramic set. But they will say it's Akebono. Actually most parts are going to be a lower quality altho you'll be told and charged otherwise. You'll be told parts are dealer parts when they are aftermarket. You'll pay for a brake flush when the technician will suck the fluid from the mastercylinder and replace it and call it a flush. It actually only replaces half the fluid but you're told all of it is replaced. FI service? ask your dealer about that. The scam continues with the coupon book. Did you know the coupon book has a $50 off coupon int it? Probably not, managers take them out.
Ever wanted an oil change but Brakes Plus just can't get you in. Especially if it's a $14.99 oil change. The technicians refuse and the management don't want to do them since they don't make money on them. It's a catch to get you in the door so they can hit you with tons of repairs you probably don't need. Have problems with the work done? GOOD LUCK! The technicians get mad when they see you, and management does everything they can to not have to replace anything so they don't loose money. They don't care about you. They will even say it's your fault to avoid loosing money. The service and store managers make money on what they can con you out of. They make commission, probably the worse way to do business. This causes them to upsale, oversale, overcharge and rob you. This in order to make money. I have seen them hire a guy who knew nothing about cars to be a service manager. This means he tries to tell you what you need to do to keep your car running right. SEE A PROBLEM HERE. The technician doesn't know, he doesn't know, but hey are going to ask you for the sale anyways. I was told he was hired because he could talk to people. OH YEAH good luck on that one. If you notice your receipt book shows the owner/ manager's name on it. This is to avoid calling the corperate office. " Corperate?" Oh you thought it was a Family business. Well yes and no. Larry, RJ and Mark own the company, but that's the only way it's a family business. When you think family business you think people who care, no politics, no coperate games. WRONG they are there. Next if you have to deal with the district manager Robert, look out. Snake in the grass is a compliment compared to this guy. He can smile to your face while stabbing you in the back. He makes you think he's helping you, dont be fooled he is the coperate watch dog. He will only help the company, but make you feel like they cared. This happens unless you persist, then his true colors show. A true prick. I stood by and watched this happen. When I said anything I was disciplined and forced out. My customer's knew I was on the up and up with them, especially when I wasn't there and they had to deal with other people. Now my crusade is to educate people on Brakes Plus and the games they play. Please do one thing before letting Brakes Plus work on your car. Get a second opinion! |
