First of all I am not a disgruntled employee lashing out at Bishop Inspection. There is another post on this site about Bishop Inspection and I brought it to the attention of all the Liberty Hill Texas staff and the reply was that this individual from Galveston was just a “disgruntled employee”. I read the report here and took it with a grain of salt. I started with the promise of freedom in my schedule which is what I needed due to be a college student. I was told I could do 5 or even 50 a day if I wanted to, it was up to me. I was even given an example of an individual that does 3 to 5 a day after his full time job for extra money. At first it was interesting. I was given a set price per each individual inspection. This varied from what type of inspection and what county, fair enough so I signed my contract. The first check took 2 months to get! I had to call and fuss every payday about them slowly taking money away from each inspection. I mean really? I was not pressured too much but was asked why didn’t I work Saturday? I thought I was free to make my schedule? After 3 months I received an email from Paul Bishop cutting the price per inspection down to, I one case, from $10 per to $6 per. Most per $4.50 in my case and they tried to knock it down to $4.25. I fought tooth and nail for .25 cents every payday. It was doable at first but after about 4 months I was given so many inspections in an area that was so vast it was impossible to do these. Case in point: Had 30 inspections close by I could have done but was phoned by Paul Bishop and was told that if I didn’t do the 5 or so inspections that were an hour and a half away, one way, he was going to take $100 per inspection out of my already meager check! This was an area of Mississippi that was very dangerous. I had a gun pulled on me, my tires were baited, had some guys throw something at my vehicle that dented it, was chased and followed for over an hour by some black guys in an SUV. They followed me to 3 inspections and waited until I left the city before they broke off the surveillance. This is also a reason I didn’t want to do these inspections. My safety is NOT work $4.25. It took me almost $40 to get there and back. It got to a point that I was being called every day from Hunt asking when inspections were going to be completed? I was told that I had that kind of flexibility!!! Oh no, what a lie. In one month I did over 400 inspections and was paid for maybe 50. These people are a true rip off. You are vested with YOUR money and time. You have zero flexibility and they have you trapped because of this. My last pay spread sheet for 2 weeks of work reads: 206 Completed Inspections, roughly $1000 dollars give or take. Here’s the kicker, 183 late inspections which equals you won’t get paid for these. I now get $103. Back charge for inspections that were turned to another inspector is $110.00. I OWE THEM $6.50!!! Please don’t waste your time. This company is owned by crooks that say one thing and give another. If you want to pay a company to allow you to blow endless amounts of cash in gas and wear and tear on your vehicle then these idiots are right for you. Read the other write up. What comes around goes around. I hope that Karma thing knocks these crooks out of business.
