Bill Me Later PayPal, Inc BillMeLater scam! U Can Never Get Them To Settle Account: Never Answer Complaints Timonium,, Maryland |

I NEVER signed up for BillMeLater, yet after buying an item on Ebay this company has been pursuing me for an 80.00 charge for 'E-Bay purchases']. They call relentlessly 2-3x day!. I told them I ***NEVER*** signed up for their service [I use PayPal's services directly] and have no need of BillMeLater's services. I spent 2 1/2 hrs on the phone with one of their 'debt collectors' trying to sort out this mess. Turns out one of the major charges was for an item never received [via Ebay purchase] which the 'collector' assured me would be removed from my record. That left just a few dollars on the account. After I'd found NOTHING would stop these people from pursuing me I figured I'd just pay the 8.49 fee rather than put up with the harrassment. It was more to stop the extortion (the collector threatened my credit rating)and because I was fed up with the arguing I paid off the amount. Think of how clever a scam this is - if even a small percentage of BML targets pays up they make millions in pure profit. As to how they got my PayPal email and phone I can only assume Paypal is sharing data with BML (intentionally or unintentionally) and that's how they're getting the account information of tens of thousands of those who also claim they've been scammed the same way I have. One would think PayPal would not wish to jeopardize their good name by being associated with such a nefarious operation as BML - not to mention the chance of their being sued as well for the scam operation. Now I find I'm back to square 1 - Bill Me Later has again begun trying to collect the entire original 80.00 amount. One CANNOT contact them because none of the email hyperliinks off the Ebay site are working. None of the phone numbers listed work- every one I called didn't go thru or was disconnected. The odd thing to me is when I signed onto Bill Me Later's website it claims I have NO account with them - none of my email addresses are recognized - yet their debt hounds are stilll trying to claim I have an unpaid account and are trying to collect the original 80 bucks via email and phone harassment. There's a California class action lawsuit against them. I can only hope more states attorneys general climb on board and put BML out of business. Fair warning to anyone who runs into BML- do NOT give them a dime. Don't even talk to them - hang up. And check your credit rating. This company is NOT to be trusted. |
