Immediately after I applied for health insurance on ehealthinsurance.com, I received a call from a man who said his name was Sal Rivers. He told me that he had a great policy for me that would cost 198.00 per month plus a 99.00 enrollment fee. He said that the plan covered medications, hospitalizations, office visits, dental, vision. He said that there was no copay and no deductable. He said that the only reason that he could get me into this plan (I have a preexisting conition) was because they needed to take a certain percentage of people with pre-existing conditions. Well, I thought this was great and gave him my checking account particulars. After signing up for this "insurance", I found a lot of complaints about this company, and I learned that are healthcare discount program. I decided that I wanted a real health insurance policy so I called to cancel and get a refund. Oh lord, did I get the runaround!!! Left on hold for 16 minustes, was told that I was the next call in line, every stalling tactic you can imagine. Finally, Allen Anderson, a customer service agent, went over the plan with me. I told him I would try it for one month. I also explained that I was told my coverage would begin on Feb 1st, when in fact it would not start until Feb 15th. I told him that his agent misrepresented his product. He said he would talk to his managers. Well, I thoght the whole thing over again and decided I eanted to go with an insurance company and not them. I called to cancel. What do you think happened? The same exact runaround as before. This company boasts a lot of subscribers. I would not get involved with them in any way. They are slippery, dishonest, and have no email address. I have loged complaints with the State Insurance Bureau, BBB, and Clark Howard. Buyer Beware!
