Bad Boy Buggies/EZGO EZGO/Cushman/Bad Boy Buggies Constant problems/non-existant service network Augusta, Georgia |

Look great until you have to deal with constant breakdowns and quirks, and no where or no way to get service! I work in a remote part of Maine. We are used to reaching out for 100 miles to get work done, or doing the work ourselves. Consequently we need reliable equipment, and reliable support. Our Bad Boy has given us neither. The nearest EZGO dealer is (now) 500 miles away in NY. Oh, I sent it to what WAS listed online as an authorized Maine EZGO dealer (there WERE many). During the six weeks (and climbing) it has been in the shop, literally every single dealer in Maine and the New England states disappeared from the dealer list. EZGO's reply "Not our doing--they didn't sign back up." If every dealer in the New England states quit EZGO, "it ain't the dealers" who have problems. Jokingly, Cabela's is supposed to be a dealer. The stores in the New England states don't know anything about Bad Boy. It took hours for them to tell me that even their ATV repair depots can't work on them. Since we bought it, we have had to ship the speed contoller to Georgia (no dealers!) to have it reprogrammed. Afterwards, every time you stop the cart for 10 seconds, it shuts off you have to turn everything off, switch it into neutral, turn it back on, and switch it into fwd/rev. "Sorry," they said, "that's a safety feature" (because they apparently can't keep it from drifting off on it's own if it gets left on). Took it to a local shop because it was jerking about and would quit for no reason. We had to put up with that because local shops could not diagnose it, and did I mention NO DEALERS. Lastly, smoke is pouring out of the back, nothing works, some electronics have burned up--probably the main controller ($,1000?). OK, sell me a shop manual so we can work on it ourselves--we are used to that up here. "Sorry, we don't have a shop manual for them"--which explains why none of the independent shops can do any work on them! Now we have a $12,000 pile of scrap metal and plastic. What an incredible disappointment that a company like EZGO cannot attract dealers in an entire region of the country. I don't just mean for Bad Boy, but for EZGO/Cushman carts in general. Beware if you purchase Bad Boy. Make certain you have support in your area--you will need it. |
