Bill Briggs agreed to do an upgrade to my 1953 Chevy pickup, i.e. new motor, upgrade front end, install bucket seats, prepare the truck to be painted. I paid Bill for the parts that he needed to get for my truck. At first he was working on my truck and everytime I stopped by the shop to check the progress being made, we talked about the next step to be done. After a few weeks I noticed that my truck was just sitting there with no new progress being made. Bill would explain that he has been very busy with other repairs coming into the shop and that during the summer he would have to work on it in between other jobs. Well a week here and a week there turned into nothing being done on my truck for a couple of months. When I asked Bill about this he said he was having trouble getting the axles. Then he said he got the axles but they were too short and had to send them back and on and on this goes. I gathered copies of all the checks I had given Bill and sat down with him to see where we were with things. That's when I found out he didn't have any of the money. We wrote up an I.O.U. that Bill Briggs agreed to repay $9,000.00 in monthly installments to be repaid in full in 1 year. I thought it was in my interest to work with him to recoup my money. The I.O.U. was signed June 2009 and after several requests for payments, and promises that he will get me some money....Not a penny have I seen and Bill is nowhere to be found!
