In June of 2009 we purchased a living room suite, consisting of a sofa, love seat, and recliner, all reclining. About 2 weeks after we purchased this the recliner broke. The back would recline but the foot rest would not come up. Also, the sofa had problems with the arm rest being flemsy and wobbling and had a popping sound when reclining. Called Ashley, they sent two young men to check out the problems. The two service techs called the office to report the problems and was told to order new mechanisim for the recliner and to bring the sofa to the warehouse for repair. The mechanism for the reliner was ordered and arrived at our home in about 1 week. In the meantime, I had words with the manager(what a joke!) about the quality of thier products and he consistantly requested that I give him the opportunity to make it right. Against my better judgement, I agreed, that was my second mistake. My first was when my wife and I went in their store, making a purchase without researching the Company first. After an attempt to repair them in our home they decided to send them back to the warehouse and order us a complete new suite of the same style or model. Guess what, the new group is no better than the first group but was told everything met quality control standards. I have learned a valuable lesson and I promise that I, plus many, many family and friends will never buy anything from Ashley Furniture. I hope anybody wanting to buy furniture will read this before going to Ashley Furniture!
