What you have read in the other scam reports for this company are absolutely true and accurate. I would advise against listening to ANYTHING a sales rep tells you and ONLY read the contract. (specifically section 2A and section 16) It is implied in the sales presentation that you can cancel anytime after the three years. A little bit misleading. What they mean is, you can cancel at anytime, but you will continue to be charged until the end of that 2 year contract period. If you call and protest, they will offer a compromise and if you are unwilling to compromise they will merely threaten to send your account to collections.
But here is something you may not know. I contacted the VP of Contracts and Cancellations. By our conversation I gather there are folks calling everyday to get out of these shams. But when I spoke to him I told him that I understand you can't get out of the initial 3 years because the company has to recoup their installation and material costs. I also said that I understand that they have to auto renew, so that people aren't left thinking they are under protection when they really aren't because the contract expired. BUT, if they already recouped their cost of installation in the first 3 years AND I know I am not protected because I am calling to cancel; then what is the necessity to keep me another two years??? His response -
"It's not about the contract, sir, it is about the money." - As he went on to explain, it is a tough economy, competition is tight, and it is not about the contract it is about the money.
So instead of providing a quality product, and outstanding customer service, and principled business practices to gain and maintain a client base; what they choose to do instead is misguide people into unprincipled contracts. It's all about the money folks. It's all about the money. Isn't it always? The only comforting thing... at least they are willing to admit it.
Please don't be fooled. They are NOT in the security business at all, they are in the deceptive practices business.
